Erosion Control
Soil erosion reduces agricultural productivity, damages structures, and results in sediment that pollutes our water and clogs our storm sewers, lakes, and rivers. Sediment can result in increased flooding and destruction of wildlife habitat. Your SWCD provides assistance in the planning, design, construction, and management of erosion control practices such as contour stripping, diversions, terraces, critical area plantings, streambank protection and conservation tillage.
